Purpose and scope

Risk Management Training aims to enable employees to gain the knowledge and skills to be aware of the risks of the organization, to control them and to convert these risks into value for successful management processes within the scope of the Enterprise Risk Management concept. This course focuses on the ability of participants to understand and apply risk management processes and techniques within the framework of the Enterprise Risk Strategy of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO).

Target audience

The main target group of this training is primarily the managers of private institutions, public institutions and organizations, local administrations and non-governmental organizations and the employees who will conduct institutional risk analysis. However, depending on the assessment of the need for corporate training, it can be expanded to include the participation of all employees.

Trainers

Risk Management training is given by trainers who have COSO Enterprise Risk Management certificate and/or who have previously provided COSO Enterprise Risk Management training in organizations and/or carried out corporate capacity building studies.

Learning program objectives and learning outcomes

Those who successfully complete the Risk Management Training, within the framework of the COSO Enterprise Risk Management approach are expected to;

  • Explain corporate risk management and related concepts,
  • Explain how the assessment of risks in corporate structures is handled,
  • Recognize the risks and opportunities in the institution,
  • Create a perspective to manage risks, use opportunities to improve business areas,
  • Analyze the value of corporate risk management while determining and realizing corporate strategy and objectives,
  • Ensure the integration of enterprise risk management with strategy and performance,
  • Apply the concepts of the risk management framework to various situational examples,
  • Determine risk response strategies,
  • Develop a reasonable risk management strategy.

Delivery and method

Risk Management training is applied face-to-face. It is recommended to have no more than 20 people in each group to ensure active participation and effective learning. However, if conditions arise that prevent face-to-face training, the training may be delivered remotely by using the Me-Learning© online learning platform and the Actio© meeting management tool.

Case studies and worksheets are used to ensure the acquisition of practical skills of stages, tasks and operations in risk management. Q&A sections, group studies and case studies are carried out to support the active participation of the participants.

Learning tools and materials

In Risk Management training, case studies, documents, worksheets and exercises are used as teaching materials for the presentation of training and the implementation of risk management processes and strategies.

Audio visual and multimedia materials, templates, worksheets and other materials for exercises and practices distributed to the participants. If there is a sufficient number of hardware such as computers, notebooks or tablets in the learning environment, all materials are provided in a digital format and studies are carried out in digital context.

In accordance with our waste reduction policy, printed materials are not distributed in this training unless it is educationally necessary.

Assessment

In order to optimize the learning process according to the learners’ needs, the level of readiness of the learners is assessed informally by the trainer at the beginning of the training. The studies carried out by the learners, such as exercises and practices are assessed as indicators of the development / learning and the trainer provides feedback and adjusts learning activities based on them in order to ensure effective learning. In addition, at the end of the training, the Training Evaluation Questionnaire is applied.

All participants who have completed the training receive a certificate of attendance showing that they have completed the Risk Management training, with duration of the training clearly stated.
