Title of the training

Energy Policies and Climate Change

Duration

2 Days (12 lesson hours)

Purpose and scope

Energy Policies and Climate Change training covers the effects of energy production resources on climate change, sectoral energy efficiency, analysis of energy production policies, commitments and practices in the context of global climate change. This training aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding about ways to mitigate the effects of climate change in energy production and consumption, and opportunities, good practices and current developments in the use of renewable energy sources.

Target audience

Energy Policy and Climate Change training focuses on providing basic information and an overview of EU climate policies to groups such as high school and university students, graduate students, academics, technical staff, experts, managers, etc. working in NGOs, public institutions and organizations, local governments and the business world. Delivery and method

Energy Policy and Climate Change training is implemented in the form of face-to-face training. However, if conditions arise that prevent face-to-face training, the training may be delivered remotely by using the Me-Learning© online learning platform and the Actio© meeting management tool.

In the implementation of the training, the training presentation is provided to the participants. In addition to presenting basic information about energy policies, energy production from different sources and energy efficiency, the participants are enabled to be active by using techniques such as discussion, brainstorming and group work.

Learning tools and materials

In Energy Policy and Climate Change training, worksheets and other documents are used as training materials for the learners to conduct group studies, discussions and practices on the effects of the use of energy production resources on climate change, energy efficiency, energy policies, current developments and financing opportunities for renewable energy.

Audio visual and multimedia materials, templates, worksheets and other materials for exercises and practices are distributed to the participants. However, if there is a sufficient number of hardware such as computers, notebooks or tablets in the learning environment, all materials are provided in a digital format and studies are carried out in digital context. In accordance with our waste reduction policy, printed materials are not distributed in this training unless it is educationally necessary.

Assessment and evaluation

In order to optimize the learning process according to the learners’ needs, the level of readiness of the learners is assessed informally by the trainer at the beginning of the training. The studies carried out by the learners, such as exercises and practices are assessed as indicators of the development / learning and the trainer provides feedback and adjusts learning activities based on them in order to ensure effective learning.

Participants are given a set of questions to determine the level of awareness and knowledge about Climate Action for Schools, either online or in print, before and after the training. In addition, at the end of the training, the Training Evaluation Questionnaire is applied.

All participants who complete the training receive a certificate of participation showing that they have completed the “Energy Policy and Climate Change” training, with duration of the training clearly stated.
