Purpose and scope

Stress Management Training aims to enable employees to address the management of workplace stress at the individual and corporate level and to gain knowledge and skills that will enable employees to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent and manage stress in the workplace.

Stress that is not managed effectively can lead to loss of focus, motivation, and productivity. This training helps employees identify personal stressors and familiarize them with practical methods for successfully managing stress.

Target audience

Stress Management Training is a recommended for all employees of private institutions, public institutions and organizations, local governments and non-governmental organizations. This training contributes to development of stress coping and stress management skills for anyone who has difficulty coping with workplace stress or who aims to manage workplace stress more effectively.

Trainers

Stress Management Training is delivered by trainers who have experience in stress management training in institutions and organizations and / or who have studies / researches on stress management.

Objectives and learning outcomes

Those who have successfully completed the Stress Management Training are expected to;

  • Understand the basic principles of stress management,
  • Determine the costs and benefits of dealing with stress,
  • Define what stress is and recognize the signs of stress,
  • Identify stress triggers and know how to manage them,
  • Try some personal stress management strategies and techniques,
  • Attempt to manage stress through diet, sleep and other lifestyle factors,
  • Understand the employer’s legal obligation to reduce work-related stress,
  • Review the main areas of work that may be causing stress and identify ways to address work-related stress across the organization,
  • Develop a long-term action plan to minimize stress and manage it better.

Delivery and method

Stress Management Training is applied in the form of face-to-face training. It is recommended to have no more than 20 people in each group to ensure active participation and effective learning in this training. However, if conditions arise that prevent face-to-face training, the training may be delivered remotely by using the Me-Learning© online learning platform and the Actio© meeting management tool.

The trainer guides learners through interaction, group work and practice in a way that facilitates learning and improves their practical skills. Practical activities such as role playing, group work, working on case studies/scenarios are carried out so that learners can experience the skills to identify sources of stress in the workplace, recognize the signs of stress, use effective strategies to cope with stress, and plan for stress reduction.

Training tools and materials

In Stress Management training, a presentation prepared for the course, enriched with multimedia content and visuals is used as teaching material. In addition, case studies, worksheets and practices that will support objectives such as recognizing the triggers of stress, using strategies to cope with stress, creating corporate strategies to support stress management are used as learning materials.

Visual, auditory and multimedia materials, worksheets and other materials for exercises and practices are prepared by the trainer and distributed to the participants. However, if there is a sufficient number of hardware such as computers, notebooks or tablets in the learning environment, all materials are provided in a digital format and studies are carried out in digital context.

In accordance with our waste reduction policy, printed materials are not distributed in this training unless it is educationally necessary.

Assessment and evaluation

In order to optimize the learning process according to the learners’ needs, the level of readiness of the learners is assessed informally by the trainer at the beginning of the training. The studies carried out by the learners, such as exercises and practices are assessed as indicators of the development / learning and the trainer provides feedback and adjusts learning activities based on them in order to ensure effective learning. In addition, at the end of the training, the Training Evaluation Questionnaire is applied.

All participants who complete the training receive a certificate of attendance showing that they have completed the Stress Management Training, with duration of the training clearly stated.
